Photo shoot for my double page spread

Finalization of my contents page

Here is my final version of my contents page. I feel that it has worked very well because of the layout I had drafted. I wanted the font for my cover page to be abnormal to real life music magazines as I think that in doing this I have further separated my music magazine from others. Also the font I have used has also been used for CD covers of the metal band Lamb of God, a very well known band within the genre.

Images for my contents page

I feel that I have chosen the best images for my contents magazine, as they portray a good sense of darkness, which is how metal is represented by the public. I have used models and props to my advantage, more specifically clothing. I wanted to use darker clothing such as leather jackets and jeans to create a sense of rebellion, as well as the use of make-up to further highlight this.

Finalized front cover

Here is my finalized front cover, where I have brought together all the elements from my research and planning, which I feel worked out better overall.

Design work in progress

I have decided to change the font of my cover line on my front cover as I feel that it doesn't quite pop off the page enough to stand out against the crowd. I have changed it to this blood effect font, which I feel is more in-keeping with genre of music I have chosen.

Front cover design in progress

This is my cover image I have yet to add to my front cover. I think it suits the genre of love metal well with its use of colour and model. I wanted to use Tom as my model, because of his taste in music matches mine and because of the style he could bring to my magazine.
